Venice was the beach vacation of our Eurotrip...minus an actual beach.
Our three nights there were spent in a little chalet in a campground, which was surprisingly comfortable thanks to our good friend, AC.
Now we can say we've been "camping" in Europe.
Now we can say we've been "camping" in Europe.
For our first night on the town, we decided to put on dresses and get dinner. I had my first REAL bruschetta and just about died. It was a good night.
Yes, there was a Burger King.
The next day we did a little more exploring.
Christina and I found new friends (and wore matching shirts).
All of us found the Disney Store.
We also found a place to eat lunch.
And we found St. Mark's Basilica.
For our last day in Venice, two things were imperative:
1) That Christina and I wear matching banana shirts.
2) That the four of us take a gondola ride.
The best part about the gondola ride? We found money on the ground that covered the cost of the ride! Of course, we took a look around to see if anyone around us might have lost it because we're all teachers and that's the right thing to do.
The gondola ride was even more relaxing than I expected it to be.
Venice was a much-needed breather in the midst of a very busy trip--full of gelato, pizza, laughter, and great memories.
